All-Pro Dads Day - Colin Knight, Team Captain
Coordinate dad-child program with breakfast events and select speakers. Communicate days with school community through flyers and our Sunset e-Blast.
 
Book Swap - Lisa Mishurda & Elva O'Sullivan
Hold the Book Swap every Friday morning in the courtyard outside the International Office. No money is required for the kids to swap books; duties consist of moving the book cart out to the courtyard, supervising the students swapping books, and returning the cart to the PTA Office. Occurs year-round.
 
Father-Daughter Dance (OPEN)
 
Cultural Arts - Cristina Pocaterra & Nicoletta Sacchetti
Assist with bringing cultural arts activities, authors’ visits, etc. to the school. Occurs year-round.
 
Jump Rope for Heart - Steven Reinhardt
Work with the PE teacher, Ms. Garboro, to determine volunteer needs for the event. Work alongside Volunteer Coordinator to secure volunteer support. Collect Jump Rope for Heart packets and track each child’s progress to determine prizes. Deliver funds collected to Ms. Garboro and distribute prizes to the students. Occurs in March.
 
Recycling Program - Vanessa Michel

Advertise the different ways to recycle at our school. Provide a collection box and periodically submit recycled items donated to the appropriate parties. Work with the different recycling agencies to secure the best offers. Collect funds and submit to Treasurer for deposit. Occurs year-round.
 
Reflections - Cristina Pocaterra & Nicoletta Sacchetti
National PTA contest to celebrate the creative artist within our children. Assist with promotion, collection of entries, enlisting the community for judges, preparing winning entries to send to the district PTA, displaying the entries in locations throughout the school, distributing awards and returning entries to students. Occurs in the fall.
 
Room Parent Liaison - Catalina Jacobs-Fernandez
Work with school administration to identify room parents for each homeroom. Hold monthly meetings to discuss and distribute information to room parents. Work closely with Recording Secretary to secure and distribute meeting minutes. Maintains Room Parents informed via regular contact with room parents via e-mail. Solicit information from the school administration and other parent organizations (FIPA, SIPA, SEED, PTA, GIPA). to present at the meetings. Occurs year-round.
 
School Spirit (OPEN)
Promote activities to build school spirit at Sunset. Research and introduce school spirit items for sale at the PTA Store. Maintain Mascot costume and manages Mascot appearances. Occurs year-round.
 
Teacher Appreciation (OPEN)
Hold events and activities throughout the year to support the teachers (for example: teacher supply kits at Open House, Starbuck cards at Valentines Day). Solicit teachers for ideas on how the PTA  can support their teaching efforts. Manage the Teacher Appreciation luncheon in the spring. Occurs year-round.
