Lisa Mishurda
Lisa is a working mom of two boys who currently attend Sunset. Having previously served as VP, Fundraising, Lisa brings much experience to this new Board position. Lisa also serves as our PTA Store Manager, and Supply Packs and Pizza Nights Chairperson. We can always count on her to step in and save the day!

Elaine Segrera
Elaine is a full-time working mom of three boys, two of whom currently attend Sunset in the first and fifth grades. She has been a dedicated room parent in our school for the past four years, and continues to serve in our Spanish International Parent Association (SIPA) as a Board Member this year.

Christie Wolfe
Our resident cheerleader, Christie has served in many capacities throughout our school. Christie served as our Teacher Appreciation and Hospitality Chairperson during the 2009-10 school year. Most recently, she introduced and chaired two amazing PTA sponsored sporting events with UM Baseball and the Miami Heat Basketball teams. She also headed up the Sunset Elementary Enrichment Drive (SEED) 25th Anniversary Gala last year with much success. Christie is mom to two energetic boys, and when she is away from her many responsibilities at Sunset, she is busy running her family business.

Recording Secretary
Kristin Healy
Serving for a second term this year as our Recording Secretary, Kristin is a devoted mom of an incoming 4th grader, and a brand new middle-schooler who graduated from Sunset last year. Having served as room parent for several years, she has that volunteer position down to perfection as well as many others. We can always count on a willing pair of hands when Kristin is around.

Ilaria Belloni
A successful realtor in the South Miami area, Ilaria is mom to two amazing children. Ilaria has been a devoted Sunset volunteer for many years, and we feel blessed to have her on board this year to help us decipher what all the French parents are saying!

Parlimentarian
Mimi Somoza
Mom to a pre-schooler and two lovable Sunset students this year, you would think that Mimi's most challenging role is being a devoted mom of three. Most of us PTA folks, however, happen to know that her most challenging role as of late has been serving as our Volunteer Coordinator and Room Parent Liaison. Mimi is great with a gavel, and this year, she is taking on the challenge of making sure our PTA meetings run smoothly, on time, and on task.

Monica Pettigrew
Monica served as our full-time and over-time PTA President during the 2009-10 school year bringing much needed structure to our PTA. Over the years, she has successfully planned our highly attended Family Nights and General Meetings, and chaired the financial aspect of the bookfairs. Monica is loving mom to a 3rd grader, and an incoming 5th grader at Sunset this year.

Dr. Leyte-Vidal
Having served on several PTA Boards during her children's elementary school years, Dr. Leyte-Vidal is no stranger to the PTA. This will mark her third year as Principal at Sunset, and on our PTA Board. Dr. Leyte-Vidal taught at Sunset Elementary years ago, and has returned to her professional home to continue to improve the educational experience for all Sunset students.

Cristina Chica-Muñoz
First and foremost a dedicated mom of two elementary school aged children, closely followed by her treasured role as Sunset's Pre-K Teacher. Ms. Chica has been teaching at Sunset since 1999, and has served as our PTA Faculty Liaison for three years running. We couldn't do what we do for Sunset students and staff without her valuable input. Thank you Ms. Chica!

Maria Campos
3rd Grade Teacher and proud mom of two, Mrs. Campos is loved by a great many Sunset students. Her professionalism in the classroom also extends to her role as PTA Faculty Liaison, and her viewpoint is always helpful (and very much appreciated) in planning PTA programs and activities.
